Need advice on my credit situation

    Hi all,

First post, so I'll make it a good one. Been doing a lot of reading- this site is excellent=). Anhyow, here's my current situation. The good, the bad, and the ugly.

    The Good:

Before I even found this site I'd disputed 5 or 6 items(more than the 4, now I know better.) with the CRA's. Immediately I had 3 old credit cards removed totaling 15K. Good start, right?

I also am disputing fraud with cra on an item(I won't go into further detail due to the litigiousness) that I neve signed for, was supposed to be in someone else's name, but they got my info from my other existing account, and are pursuing me on it. No signature- it won't hold up.

I found another instance of fraud where someone opened an account in my name. currently with thier fraud dept. Notified OC and CA to halt activity on my cr.

I do have 2 auto loans 1, past-paid as agreed, and 1 current, same status.

    THE BAD:

I have some current negative activity which I'm working on. 1 credit card WAS in good standing with providian, but it was over the limit, consequently sold to another company, who promptly jacked the interest rate up to 29% after closing the account, presumably due to the over the limit status. I called and complained about the interest rate, which I didn't even think was legal, so they sent me an offer for 0% and suspension of over the limit fees for 6 months- I'll be paying that off in 6 months of course, though I'm not sure they will reactivate it with a desirable interest rate.

I have 3 collection items which I'm addressing. 1 is from 1998, so I'm thinking of requesting a VOD, as I have not had any contact with them in 5 years.

1 is a phone debt that is mine, and was sold to a ca, so I'm thinking of negotiating them to clear it off my credit.

and finally I have a bad debt cc with is fairly recent. Can I do VOD on these or no? I've read that cc's won't negotiate, so what can I do to prevent a Paid CO on this account?

    The UGLY

I have a judgement. This is fun, because it was from an auto loan dating from 96. Months before the SOL 7 year mark, it was sold to a collection attorney, and it's not on there until 2009, or I take care of it. Should I go straight to settlement, or do I have any options before that? I did have contact with them in 02 and set up a payment plan which fell through.

So that's my situation. I pulled an EQFX score of 515(ya I know, ouch), and I'm waiting for my disputes to be finished before repulling all 3. Any advice on how to approach this? If you guys need more info, let me know.

    Thanks in advance!

Yeah, good start but who says only 4 items at a time max? Really, it does not matter. I disputed more than 20 items at once and have had results from 14 to 26 deletions depending on which bureau you look at. Different strokes for....you know...

These should be easy, do the val letter to the CA and follow up with the disputes to the CRA's.

You may need to dispute anyway to rack up some violations and use these as leverage for a settle for deletion.

Go ahead and dispute, what do you have to lose? I would dispute as not mine and see where that takes you. As always remember that there is always the risk of waking a sleeping bear by doing this so be prepared worst cas scenario to negotiate.

Ok what are you referring to with violoations? Didn't see it in the FAQ, though I've seen it a few times.

I should dispute the OC though, right? This account was sold to an actual attorney who does not directly work for the OC. That's a big bear- I may have to follow up my actions if I dispute him.
