Sent out validation request to CA, via CRRR mail, how long do they have to respond? Once they respond what is my next step?

In validating the debt, I am asking them to prove the SOL has not expired, what can they use to prove?

What can I use to prove? I do have a copy of Credit Reports pulled by a mortgage company that shows the last date of activity as 07-2000, which puts this past the SOL of 4yrs in TX.

This no longer shows on my credit report can they put it back on there?

    Thank you

Normally, a CA doesn't have to respond within any timeframe as long as they stop collection activities until they do, provided that you sent your request for validation within 30 days of receiving their original communication.

I've heard that TX state law has tighter requirements that CAs must provide validation within 30 days of your request. You might call your state AG's office to check.

If 7 years has passed since the original date of delinquency, they should not legally be able to put it back on your reports.
