I have a positive account reporting twice(car loan which was paid off about 9 months ago). One is reporting as PAID/NEVER LATE, and the other tradeline is reporting as OPEN/CURRENT showing a balance of $10,800. with a last reporting date of 12/00. (obviously they have not updated this). Is it hurting my score that I still have a large balance owing??? I have no revolving credit cards, and I have a current car loan that I am paying on with a $12,000 balance (so it's showing that I have a total of about $22,800 outstanding.) If this is hurting, should I dispute it to show as paid? I'm just afraid of losing a positive tradeline!!!

Yes, it probably is hurting your score and ratios.

If you are afraid of losing the positive tradeline DO NOT dispute it thru the CRA's. Write the creditor and be VERY specific as to which one should be deleted. I have now lost 2 car loan tradelines (both positive) because I disputed relatively irrelevant details. Apparently, from what I hear, the score models for car loan companies are higher for those who DO have positive car loan info on their reports. I'm now at a disadvantage. Unfortunately, the creditor (my credit union) has archived the data and will not reinsert.
