O.K all of you who have had experience dealing aggressively with OC's I need your help. I want to buy a house. I plan on starting the process the first of the year and I need 5 bad accounts gone now. I am dealing with only the original creditors because I have no idea who the collection agents are for these accounts. One of these accounts is a paid repossession, one is a judgement and the other three are old charge-offs. Please help with only the most agressive strategy.
First, list who the charge offs are with, who is reporting (OC or CA), and the age of the judgment and repossession.
Thanks Love. The chargeoffs are with Capital One, Providian, and First National Credit Card. The repossesion is with Chrysler Financial and the judgement is with Enterprise Rental Cars and is listed as two seperate judgements with different amounts for a dent in the door where another car tried to squeeze pass me in a very tight space. This was supposed to be covered under my rental car insurance with the credit car that I had at the time. So what is the most agressive way to knock this out? Any takers? I almost forgot, only the oc's are reporting. the capital one is from 5/99, the first national credit card is from 3/00 and the Providian is from 8/99. The judgement is from 3/00 and the repossesion is from2/98.
I am not a pro by any means but I will take a stab at it. Have you disputed the OC tradelines? Are any of the OCs contacting you? Is the judgment a default judgment (ie did you show for court)?
Disputed OC tradelines came back verified OC's not contacting me Default Judgement. Did not show up for court.
Robin, I wish I could help as I am getting ready to attack a couple OC's myself. My first move has been to send validation letters to the OC's. The way i figure it, they should have to provide proof that the debt is yours, right? Attack it with the thought that maybe they will violate the FCRA and you can get a deletion out of it.
Read some of the past posts. PFB Capitol One and arrange to pay of the other two credit cards in exchange for settled for less than full. That is where I would start.
I would settle with the OCs on the charge offs. Are the two judgments duplicates of each other? Check some of the old threads on removing judgments. The repossession....unless you are willing to settle with them may not be so easy to get off in a rush especially since its unpaid.
Hermit5, LKH, I can not find any "3 month cleanup" when i do a search. Only references to it. Does anyone have the actual thread or post? humblemarc
humblemarc, I think this is the one they are referring to, it was a lizardking: http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?threadid=16940 Sassy
Thanks Sassy! I really do appreciate taking the time to find it for me. God Bless Sassy people who live in Arizona. humblemarc
The reposession is paid. Only the judgements and the chargeoffs are unpaid. Specific advise regarding the paid judgement would be great. Also, what are my chances regarding settling with the OC's for the chargeoffs for a deletion? The judgement has two different amounts and to differemt numbers, but I was only served once.
robin, Just out of curiosity, does one of the numbers begin with a 'C'? I know it sounds like a weird question, but I had a similar situation with my Ford judgement. It turned out that the original judgement was filed in my county's district court, and its accompanying judgement lien was filed in circuit court--hence the 'C,' I suppose. So I wound up with two public record entries for one judgement...just like you, different amounts, different numbers. wajaba
No but the first account number starts with a 80 and the second account number starts with 99 with the remaining numbers the same on both judgements.
