Ok my parents have had that ATT universal card for ages and were paying 10%. They got a letter stating it was being bumped up to 15.99% for no reason. they have barely any debt at all. Fico scores probably in the high 800s. they walked into a lowes store 6 months ago, applied, and were given 20k. Their credit is as prefect as it comes. I want to know the best credit card out there(no not the black one). It must have no annual fee and the lowest rates you know of. Cash back or rewards is also a good thing. Let me know please. thansk
If you want cash back or rewards, it's hard to find one with no annual fee. If they're members of or eligible for USAA, they have a cash back card with low or no fee, I believe. Otherwise, I'd go for something like the United Mileage Plus Visa or the Marriott Rewards Visa, both from First USA. They should be able to get the Signature Visa, with no preset spending limit. There is a fee, however. I've gotten fairly regular (not sure how often, but they seem pretty often) CL increases from them.
Have they called AT&T to see if they can get the APR lowered? Maybe something has come up on their report that they don't know about (like a collection did on my husband's)? I don't think my AT&T Universal rate has gone up, but I'm not using mine because I have a 3.9% BT until paid off.
Could be a mistake. There would be no collection on it unless it was somebody elses. I would drool at the thought of some dumb CA destroying their credit by accident. anyway, I see lots of threads here about specific cards at like 6.9%. anyone know a specific card and what it offers?
My mom called and they said due to business expense increases they were raising % on ATT universal cards. What a load of crap. I gave her retention phone # and they said they would be able to help but my dad has to call as my mom is the AU and he is out golfing now. Still looking for other stuff. I saw the citibank diamond at 10.24% with 1$ cashback and 0% nofee BT for 12 months. no bad.
Since it seems like I am having a conversation with myself I will just say she called the retention # posted here for citibank and was moved to 9.24%. However, I think they made it variable so it will go up. I told her so far try for the 10.24 citibank diamond rewards card or the 9.9 mbna elite rewards card. Both have 12 months 0% BT and are fixed unless anyone knows something better.
I would've suggested the citi diamond but you beat me to it. I have the platinum select but the same rewards program. The 3000 point level is the best value. $30 coupons = full 1% at a lot of places I frequent. It's also easy to call and get a better rate. Mine is about 10.9 fixed but got 3.9 on purchases till end of year and 4.9 on bt's for 1 year. 0
Hi, Is it possible that your parents or you can become members of a credit union that offers Visa or Mastercard with rewards? Their cards tend to have rewards, as well as no annual fee. My credit union offers a Visa card at 9.9% fixed, with "Scorecard" rewards that you can accumulate (1 point per dollar), with 25000 points giving you a free roundtrip within continental United States, and no annual fee. Best of all, points do not expire. If you are interested, email me, I can suggest a way that you (or anyone else) can join this credit union.
