Need help-3 late marks, 1 paid col

My Mrs handled my financial affairs and as a result of chronic medical issues, has had problems handling things unbeknownst to me. As a result I have 3 consecutive 30 day late payments on my Chase credit card as late as March of this year. I don't know how much this lowers my score which resides currently at an average of 570, but I can't get a jumbo loan on a first home with that. I need to get into the 620 and above range.

Also, I have one in-house paid collection mark for $108 for a hospital bill she neglected to pay at debt inception, although now paid as of last month. I did't know about any of this till I had a loan broker pull my report in anticipation of trying for our first home loan.

I have paid down all my credit cards which were maxed out, and my Experian fico score simulator went from 601 to 630 just on paying down the credit cards, but I need some suggestions on how to get the $108 paid in collection removed, and the 3 late payments removed.

One Experian I have a paid public record judgment on my record I am disputing as not mine as the suit was against my corp and I prevailed in arbitration anyway, so I have demanded that it be removed, but EQ refused to remove it pending their investigation. I don't know how much that will raise my score when removed as a paid judgement. Thoughts?

One two of my other credit bureau reports had a unpaid judgement showing, but that was deleted last month, and the other credit bureau refuses to remove it even though I have a signed document from the other party stating he has been paid in full, but he refused to adhere to the settlement contract and file a satisfaction of judgement, so I guess i have grounds for a suit against him. The credit bureau says it will conduct an investigation, but initially ignored the documents sent as part of the dispute proving he was paid in full. This case grew out of my corps work again but the plaintiff named me personally but shouldn't have so someohow it ended up on my credit report. I am wonderig if I should contact the arbitration association who ruled against me and aks them to remove my name when they know it was a result ofa corps work, but i doubt they will do anything. i wonder if i can petition a court to remove my name from the past matter when it is obviously a corp's work (employee was claimed to have damaged client's countertop)

I also have a bunch of inquires showing, with some credit cards who pulling it every two months! Do I generically dispute these and to whom?

So what strategies do you recommend to get the late stuff and paid collection removed? I read to demand an investigation and a report on exactly how they conducted the investigation with the credit bureaus.

I need help getting to 620 average or above. Help!

    Thanks all!

You might try a goodwill letter, and discuss her issues and see if they will remove them. The recent 30 days are probably affecting your score quite a bit. Office Depot hit DH with one just last month (NOT LATE!), and it dropped his score 50 points. When they removed it, he got 6 points back.

The hospital themselves were reporting the collection? If that's so, you might try to call and whine at them. :), if its a CA forget it. Whychat also has some stuff about HIPPA on his site, that people have used to get rid of medical collections. Do a search on HIPPA, and you should find some posts from him, which carry a link to his site in his sig.

Those are probably softs. Which report are they showing on and what do they say? If they are softs they aren't hurting anything. I'm assuming these are from creditors you have a relationship with.

I have already sent a letter to Chase Manhattan, although it didn't go into her private medical issue, they refused to remove the lates, but they did change it to late from delinquent supposedly.

The hospital has a so called in house collection agency called Professional Medical Recovery. Maybe if I went in instead of a letter and pleaded my case.

The worry I have with a sob story letter is if it doesn't work with Chase Manattan, then if I try any sort of repair after, they can use my letter against me!

I don't know yet how to tell a soft from a hard inquiry, and I have a relationship somewhat with some, but never authorized inquiries. As an example, one credit car company is making inquiries every couple of months, and JC Penney I think made an inquiry and I never applied for anything with them.

I can't believe your so's score dropped 50 points from one late, then when removed, he onbly got 6 points back, doesn't seem fair!

Ahh, one of the first things you will learn here, is never accept the first no...move up the chain of command. Maybe someone here has a good contact at Chase, or can tell you if Planetfeedback.com is a better way to go.

Sounds like a 3rd party CA...forget being nice. Look at the HIPPA stuff (I know nothing about it, other than it is out there). You might also look at the nutcase series.

You do bring up a good point. I suggested the goodwill because the lates are so new.

On EQ- Hard has no alpha code in front of the company pulling your report. AR's are the most common soft that creditors you have a relationship with use--they don't hurt your score, and are seen only by you. PRM - these are pulled by companies considering making you an offer - they don't need your permission as they don't see you entire report.

On TU - They are pretty much divided out with explanations, when you see a report from them, you will probably understand.

EX - Hards are under one section. Everything else (softs) are under another. Its anybody's guess whether they are Promotional or Account Reviews.

Thats why we usually refer to the creators of the score as UNfair and Issac!
