Ok I got the first round of disputes back for my wife and here's the deal.

I disputed everything derogotory (8 accounts).

Experian deleted one account, said that they verified the other 7.

    but here are the accounts:

US Dept of Education - Past due for less than 300 dollars.

USA Funds (4 times) - Apparently this is some company that was collecting for a student loan. There are 4 trades with them. the first two have the same amount and the account number is off by one number. Was paid back in 1998. The third and fourth are the same deal. Same amount, account number 1 digit off. Paid also back in 1998. I think that the 2nd and 4th are duplications but apparently Experian does not think so.

Credit Union for a unsecured personal loan that was charged off and is now paid since 1996

and a Funeral Home from when her first husband passed away that says that she filed bankruptcy who she paid with a personal check at the time of the funeral (I've seen the cancelled check, she really did pay it) and who has sent her info saying that this was taken care of and its being reported in error but I did not have handy to send in when I filed the dispute so I did not send it along. That also came back as verified. Go figure.

So what should I do now? Should I re-dispute the items or request that they show me how they verified the information. Should I write letters to the original creditors and try to work the system backwards? And also, do you think I should dispute some of the inquiries now or should I wait until next time?

Thanks in advance and you guys are the best. I can't say enough about all that I have learned from the board and the great advice and ideas I have picked up.

You might try the online dispute deal. Lots are saying that works pretty good. I'd wait until about the 5 of Dec to do though.

Yeah I read about the planned holiday crush on the bureau disputes. I might do that but at what point to they start saying that its frivilous? I told them the accounts were not hers. What should I put in them this time that would make any difference?

Has anyone had any success in dealing with the original creditors trying to get them to prove the accounts or remove them?

Nothing much that I can think of.
That's the only way I do it. Works like a charm for me.
