I hope someone can give me a tip here. Filed bankruptcy in 2001, Fleet finally got around to sending us a letter saying "oops, sorry we haven't updated your status, we're going to notify the CRa's to report as "included in bk". Well, here it is a few months later and only one CRA has reported it right so far with the other two getting it totally wrong. They're now reporting a past positive account as "charged off" now, which made our scores take a huge dive recently. I know I could just probably fax the letter that Fleet sent us to these cRA's, but like most post bk'ers, I hate to have to admit or provide "proof of my bankrutpcy" to them. Catch 22 it seems. Darned if I do and darned if I don't! Any advice?? Should I just have hubby call (it's his account) the remaining two CRA's to dispute as not mine or inacurrate reporting? Should I fax the letter Fleet sent?? I'm just not sure how to proceed first to get them to maybe correct the reporting. Thanx. Newstdt
I would get online and dispute as not mine, since it isn't yours because if it was yours it would say incl. in bankruptcy. dispute and hopefully it will disappear.
