I am trying to get an unsecured credit card in Canada. We have been out of bankruptcy for 6 years and can't find a company who is willing to issue us a card. Please advise.

RE: Need Help in obtaining a c Jen your asking a lot from the big conservative Canadian Banks. Is your bankruptcy still showing? If it isn't you could get some smaller credit, and then go for the Visa Card. Start with Canadian Tire they give credit to anyone! My sugestion is put $500.00 in a term deposit for 1 yr. and start with one of the major banks, or home trust. It will take you too long to get to a Visa by building it up from nothing. Reciently a friend of mine moved up here to Canada from the States and has done very well building his credit in 2 months. CDN. TIRE $500, THE BAY (instant approval W/ Visa Card), ASSOCIATES $1,000(Furniture with Leon's) TRANS CANADA CREDIT $3,000(Furniture) He was lucky that he needed to buy the furniture when he did as this is easy to qualify for, and also lucky he had great credit in the states.
