    Here are the facts.

    1) I paid a collection in 11/00.
    2) The CA reported the account, listing the date of last activity as 5/00, the date it went to collection.
    3) FDIC bank closed the account in 4/00 but can not provide the date of the overdraft. A customer service rep says they don't keep statements or notes once an account goes to collection (is this legal?)
    4) CA verified the account with Equifax on 11/2001 and again in 12/2001 with the incorrect date of delinquency.

How do I get this removed? I figure the CRA is a waste of time as the CA keeps verifying. Should I take it up with the CA? Any advice on the approach?

    Much obliged for any replies.

    Happy Holidays

Do you have naything you can use to prove the date? an old credit report, a bank statement, etc?

I have bank statements which show that the overdraft occurred in 12/1999. No further activity until the account closed in 4/2000. I was out of the country on study abroad and had no idea it was overdrawn.

This is not the first time inaccurate info has been reported on this account though. This was paid in 11/00 and the CA did not update the account as paid until 11/01. I am pissed about this being stuck on here 6 months longer than it has to be, but in reality, I just want the entire thing deleted. How should I phrase my letter to the CA?
