Do you mean you sent the Vals. to "creditors"?

OC's are not governed by the FDCPA, (which contains your validation rights). Only 3rd party collectors are.

Unless the OC is a Data Furnisher, (governed by FCRA) you may have to start over.

Try explaining as much detail as you can here and we'll see if we can help straighten it out.

    :(

    Thanks for the reply,

Most all of these are OC's some of the accounts have been sold to Collections but the most are Charge offs from OC's...I tried to "doctor" the examples to collections to fit the OC role I guess I have failed. I gave money to Bill Bauer also to no avail he just gave me 3rd party letters. What can I do my file is real nasty thanks to my Ex wife. I think my file will even cost me a Federal job when the conduct the backround check. These are big screw ups She let them foreclose on a home and defaulted on 5 credit cards.

Team, You can still get things cleared up. Take a breath and relax...also the job is still possible as long as you do not lie about your past history.

The people that have the best and most consistent results on this board are the ones that read all the information they can stand, and digest it well, before jumping in and sending letters that they altered without knowing what is important to say/do and what is important NOT to say/do.

That said, read the FAQ...order all 3 hard copies of your report directly from the CRA's (if you have not done so) to find out EXACTLY what is listed and by what companies. Each one will be an individual case unto itself that you systematically work on to get removed or favorably updated.

For instance Original Creditors are bound by the FCRA and FCBA. They can be handled with goodwill letters, nutcase letters, settlement letters, dispute letters, and (even though they are not bound by the FDCPA), validation letters can and have worked.

Conversly, CA's are bound by the FCRA and the FDCPA and have more stringent rules that they must adhere to that can be used to chip away at their hold on you and your life. Sometimes you can even offer to pay the OC and then turn around and force the CA to remove their listing because it is not theirs to collect on.

Foreclosures have been removed here by folks also. It only takes some reading and some stick-to-it-iveness.

Read the FAQ, use the search button, post some detailed questions (without detailing account numbers and personal information) and I am sure your outlook on things will quickly change.

Most of the folks I have seen here have dramatic results in 6 months to a year...not the 7 years they feel doomed to endure.

    Good Luck

    -Peace, Dave
