i live in ohio.. last paid on account on 7-99

I have a lawyer who has garnished my bank account and placed a lien on my house. is it too late to "contest" the debt or is it too late? I know I was stupid in ignoring all the paper work and "stuff" they sent me regarding the debt. Anywho.. its too late.. whats been done is done.. what can I do now?

here is a tad of info regarding my problem..
-agreed to purchase trans360 for 1100.00 in 2-96
-made monthly payments for 2years 5 months for a total of 1300.00 dollars
-debit card was lost and payments were stopped 7-99, leasecomm called 3 months later saying they werent getting their payment and want about 400 extra dollars in "late" fees. i told them to f-off the late fee was nuts and I wouldnt pay it. They would NOT work with me or even set up payment plans that were resonable.
    - 9-02 a lawyer garnishes my bank account for 50 bucks to try to satisfy 1100 garnishment.. luckily he selected the "wrong" time of the month
    - 10-02 i scheduled a hearing at court where the judge laughed at me basically. asked the lawyer if he was willing to "work" with me. lawyer told me to send him how much I payed on account and we would go from there. I called him and told him what I paid(1300.00). he said he was requesting payment history from leasecomm and it would take a week. I havent heard from him since, that was 3 weeks ago.

I really want to find a remedy to this situation, i hear this lawyer now "chain" garnish my bank account. I know I owe this company something, but not 1100 bucks..what can I do??

    many thanks, james

    Re: LeaseComm

This may or may not be relevant to your case.

I just received this URL in a letter from LeaseComm today.

Most LeaseComm consumers will be affected in one way or another by this settlement reached by the FTC, some states AGs, and a DA, and LeaseComm.
