Is there anyone here who would mind looking at my credit report and giving me some ideas of how to fix it. Everything listed on my credit file is correct but I need help with understanding how the SOL effects the stuff I owe. I currently have a collection agency offering me a 20% settlement. It just seems fishy. Thanks.
I take it that you have a copy of the report? The SOL varies from state to state and generally speaking is under six years for credit card debt. You could go to www.naca.net search the attorney membership for your state, and put in a call to an attorney. With CA "offering" 20%, making one telephone to an attorney may very well be worth your time.
