I have been looking at my reports lately.. Seeing how much I owe.. Trying to see what I can do about getting negative items deleted.. Now I am getting very stressed because my scores are extremely low.. So basically what I have been doing is paying everything off in site and I don't know if I am doing the right thing or not.. Someone that knows what they are doing.. E-mail me @ LitUpAgain@aol.com I really don't know how to do all of this.. Or the proper steps or anything..

First off, do ALOT of reading. This site is a great resource for someone who is beginning to repair their credit such as yourself. You must read, read and read some more.

When you feel that you are ready to jump in, ask questions. Feel free to post your information (with all identifying information deleted), so that the contributors can give useful and more applicable advice.

A great place to start would be the sticky posts that are always at the top of this board!!

    Good luck.

    For example,

If you call a collection agency and agree to begin payments, you've severly diminished your ability to claim the debt "isn't yours" as you've confirmed it by beginning to pay.

You need to spend a week or two reading the posts on this board and asking questions about those you don't understand.

When you say "extremely low", how low do you mean and where did you get your scores from?

As you've confirmed it by beginning to pay.

    Not so.
1* you were paying in error
    2*you were paying under duress
    3*you were conned into paying.
4*you were paying based on incorrect information.
