We just found out that we overlooked a Dec Capital One payment and now we have a 30 day late on our credit. There were extinuating circumstances and this is the first time we ever have had a late. We are distraught. We pleaded our case with Cap One and they said "tuff luck". Any creative suggestions? PFB? thanks everyone.
was it really 30 days late? maybe it was only 20? you could dispute it that way if you can prove it wasnt really 30 days late. be nice about it in your dispute letters to Cap One. Try to figure out how to get your letters to someone who has the power and willingness to help you. Calling and talking to the first CSR you get usually ends in "tuff luck". they're trained to say that. do a search here for other people's dealings w Cap One, and see if you can get the name of someone in middle management (i've heard women mgrs are nicer & more sympathetic than men, lol) who might respond to a goodwill/sob story from you. good luck.
Planet Feedback is a good place to start. Many of us have had luck reaching middle management with those letters. Someone usually calls you back within 2-3 weeks and they are helpful. Good luck.
