I am starting to get mad at these people, I was making payments every month on time, then when somehow my payments were not getting posted to my account I got a call from them. They were real nice and I got the payments that I made to them accredited to my account. Then when I checked my Equifax report I see aa 30 day late from them in there. I called them back and finally got a mnager. They said that after 15days I would get the results on investigation mailed to me from Equifax. It has been over 4 weeks and still nothing.

So I pulled my CR and there it is still there. I am really mad that a guy can play by all the rules and still get stung like this.

What would be my best course of action? Anyone got a contact at citibank?

Thanks for any advice you can give.

I assume your Home Depot card is thru Citibank. Have you disputed with Citibank?

Was the problem with Citibank receiving the payment timely, or did they receive it, but it was not posted correctly?

Do you have records showing on-time payment? Bank checking account statements showing dates checks posted?

Was your dispute thru with Equifax? Was it in writing, sent CRRR, or have they acknowledged receipt of your dispute?

Was the dispute based on information from your free annual credit report?
(If so, 45 days allowed, instead of the usual 30 days.)

Wait, are you saying that a dispute based on info from an annual CR gets treated differently than other disputes? Is that to say CRAs have 45 days to respond?

That is correct. Apparently the CRAs got that put into the legislation, presumably because they would be flooded with complaints as people started requesting their free reports.
