I filed bankruptcy 11/2004. I had four WFNNB credit cards.

I did not included them in the bankruptcy the cards had little or no balance on them.
WFNNB closed my 4 accounts August 2009. Yes 5 years latter.

Even though I never included them in my bankruptcy they still closed my accounts. I had no problem with this until I received my credit reports.

It states that my 4 accounts were Discharged through Bankruptcy Chapter 7. It also stated that Debt included in Chapter 7 Bankruptcy
    Feb 02 2011.

On my Lane Bryant account it state that when it was purchased by another lender Creditor couldnot locate individual from Aug 14 2008 to Jan 22 2010.

    These reports are not true.

When call WFNNB their response was that they had all the correct information of my address and phone for the last 10 years plus.

And that they could not correct the information until I send them all of the paperwork I have to their Bankruptcy Departtment then they would review it and make a decission. Seriously? Is there someone who could help me with this? Please!!

Credit issuers have the right to close your accounts at any time. Most will close any open credit cards when they receive word of a bankruptcy. Is your main concern that the date for the BK is wrong on your credit reports? If so, dispute it through the CRAs before trying anything else.

WFNNB is reporting to the CRA's that I included the 4 accounts I had with them in my bankruptcy. I didnot file bankruptcy on them. It would be useless to dispute it with the CRA's if WFNNB keep reporting wrong information. I need to know is there anyway I can solve the issue with WFNNB instead of sending a large amount of paperwork. My main concern is not the dates that they have listed but they are reporting false information.

I'm not really understanding why you wanted to keep these accounts in the first place. Most people would want all their credit card debt included in the BK. Regardless, it's always a good idea to dispute inaccurate information on your credit reports through the CRAs first. I would also provide WFNNB with whatever documentation you have from the BK to prove that the accounts were not included so they need to update what they're reporting to the credit bureaus.

Technically, they are not reporting incorrect information. There are two types of chapter 7s - those with listed assets which can be sold and the $$$ given to creditors and those with none. Most chapter 7s are no asset cases. In no asset cases, even those with unlisted creditors, the debts are discharged under the law since they wouldn't have gotten anything anyway. You can dispute the date like Joshua suggests but you won't get WFNNB to remove the "included in bankruptcy" notation. Guaranteed.

I was not trying to keep the accounts. The cards had little or no balance on them so I decided not to include them.

Joshua is correct that creditors CAN CLOSE your accounts any times.

here is what I would do:

-Would write a dispute letter detailing all the events that took place.
-Provide them the information you have supporting your case.
-It's your legal right to dispute this inaccurate information on your credit report.
-The tough thing to deal with is having open account probably helped your credit score. I'm sure now you wished you would have maxed out those credit cards before the BK!!!!

Yes I wished I did maxed them out or included them on the BK then It would not have this problem. Thanks for the info.

Hello phantom. I guess I should thank you for your response because it made me so angry that I did not give up and enlisted my dear close friends and family members to help me with this problem. I had very good and postive response from my team members who researched and help me. One came up with a Facebook account that is the parent company of WFNNB. It is call Comenity. Comenity over sees WFNNB. They also have a Customer Care Office were you can post your problems with WFNNB. Well i did post my problem and today I got phone call from the Head Supervisor over Customer Relations. She apologize that I was having such a hard time getting the information removed. She said that it was sad that they had to close my accounts because I was a good customer who paid on time and had no outstanding balance on all four cards. She also saw were I had paid the accounts off and they were not charged off by the bankruptcy. She will have all four accounts" removed" from my credit report. She is also sending me a letter to comfirm the removal. I was asked to reconsider reopening the four accounts because I was a good customer. And please donot hesitate to contact her if I had any future problems wth WFNNB. So you were right I didnot get WFNNB to remove the "included in bakruptcy". But they removed all four accounts and anything that had to do with them that was showing a negative on my report. Guaranteed. So thank you once again.
