I have a joint account with household bank. I haven't talked to the co-owner in over a year. Now i find the account in 60 days late and over the limit. I paid it current. I am sending a goodwill letter to them. Who do i send this to. I have never had a late before this besides collections. Do you think they will help me. Anyone have a adress or a dept. Thanks alot..
you might be able to have a good will removal, but if you haven't talked to the co-owner in over a year, you might consider closing the account against future charges and open a new account in only your name.
You're not likely to get any response from HSBC. You best option is to dispute it through the credit reporting agencies. At least then they'll mark it as being in dispute thus, taking it out of your score.
I would go through Planetfeedback.com and try through there first (I've had a lot of success with other banks), give it a few weeks for a response (they may or may not respond), if you don't receive an email or snail mail with a response, then fire off a letter to the corporate office...
