I just received a letter today from TransUnion stating that my dispute with lates being reported by my credit union and Marshall Fields is frivolous because it has been previously verified. These morons must have not read the letters attached to my dispute from the CU and Marshall Fields stating that there are NO lates on the accounts. What can I do now? Should I ask the OC's to send something to TU. What idiots!!!

I think I would send a notice of intent to sue...

Is there an example of a nice "intent to sue" letter on this board? Especially for this issue of not following up on a dispute or reporting obviously incorrect information.

    Kozman,
I had the same thing happen to me with TU and Marshall Fields.

I'd disputed the lates and they came back verified. Which is impossible because Marshall Fields had deleted all references to late pays from my account. So I sent them a letter that they'd mailed me two years ago, stating they removed all late pays from my credit reports.

I would suggest faxing a letter to TU. I faxed it directly to someone and it was taken care of in a week or so.

If you do a search on the board for TU fax, you'll find the name of a person and a fax number you can use.

Do you have a letter from Marshall Fields stating your account was never late?

You CAN go the OC route, but even when MF sent TU the info, they still did not remove the late pays. The other agencies did though.

Threatening to sue is not always the answer. Why don't you just call TU and ask for the fax # so you can send copies of the letters. Or, do a search here for "TU Fax numbers". If you fax copies of the letters on the creditors letterhead, you should have no problem getting it updated.

I couldn't find a number by searching. Does anyone have TU's fax number and a possible contact name? Thank you for the assistance.
