You guys have helped so much in the past, I need some help woth some Unauthorized Inquiries. My husband and I have been looking a new homes for some time. Back in Sept of last year we went in to one we loved, talked with salesperson, and we were going to get with their mortgage person about getting approved first . Well after thinking about it, we werent ready and left message for salesperson will keep in touch closer to lease being up. 2 weeks later we get our credit report in the mail from the mortgage person. This is all before I found our about this website. At this point I wasnt so mad because I got the report, and found you guys, read advise and starting cleaning it up. November we receive a letter from the build about "preferred customer" incentive. We stop by to ask what the incentives are, tell her we will contact the mortgage person, and that we do not want our credit report run because we dont want the hit. Well 2 days later the mortgage company has pulled it again. Ok, so here is where I need help: 1) is it too late to send a letter since this happened in Nov. 2) Do I send seperate letters for myself and my husband since both were pulled, or combined in 1 letter. 3) Do I send to the home office of the mortgage company or the mortgage rep. Sorry this is soo long. Have not sent a PP letter before and want to make sure do it correctly. Tried to do search on PP letter but didnt see anything that answered question. Thank you again, just us
hum? an application for the mortgage person, if so, no we never signed anything. Never met with the mortgage person.
Re: Re: Need help with Unauthorized Inq! Did you fill out an information sheet when you visited the salesperson? If so, that's probably where they got the information to pull your credit report. Did you ever give them your SS number or date of birth? In any case, if you never signed anything, you can probably sue them for a few thousand $$$ for pulling your report without your permission.
Re: Re: Need help with Unauthorized Inq! I did fill out the information sheet , but never a mortgage apllication, so does filling that out, give them permission to pull?
Re: Re: Need help with Unauthorized Inq! IMHO No. That information sheet was a farming tool used by the RE agents. It certainly did not give permission for a 3rd person to pull a credit report. I would send the no PP letter.
