Does anyone know how or where I can get an address for a collector. I mistakenly agreed to a check-by-phone on the 13th and prompty changed my mind after reflecting on the conversation. I finally got to the director of the agency after 3 calls and threats to contact my employer about the debt from two different people. The director claimed that she deleted the check from their system but I'm afraid they will try to debit my account anyway and this time for the full amount. My bank told me that I should document everything which I have but I want to send a certified, return-receipt letter requesting that the debit be cancelled for more proof. The director would not give me the address. Said I didn't need it now that the check was cancelled. She only gave me a fax number that may or may not work. I have a corporate address for these people but not the local agency. P.S. I also put a stop payment on the phone check but the bank said that they could just change the amount, check number or even try to submit it again if it gets stopped. I intend to open a 2nd checking account tomorrow and have my pay deposit changed to the new account. I'll then slowly close out my old account. Is there any more advice anybody could give to protect myself? The collector is Allied Interstate and they are located on Windy Hill Rd. in Smyrna, GA. This is all I know. Should I send the letter to the corporate office? Thank you.
The GA address for them that I was able to find was: Allied Interstate, Inc. 340 Interstate North Pkwy SE Ste 140 Atlanta, GA 30339-2201 I would send to that address, and the corporate address <add> CC: Corporate Office, City, State at the bottom.
Thank you very much. How in the world did you find that. I was using Google and could only find horrible stories about these people.
