WE are in the process of buying a home and I need a stupid phone bill off my husbands account yesterday. They validated the account but never sent us anything. The account is old and we do not believe it belongs to him. Any one have any tips for what needs to be in this letter to get some action or have a letter I can use Thanks so much, it is more than appreciated.
Yes, but not just a letter but rather a whole lot more than that. Your main problem is that you are going to have to prove to your lender that you have paid the debt in most cases. Unfortunately, it don't make most lenders any difference whether it is your account or you actually do owe the debt or have some dispute about the debt or not. They simply insist however unfairly that the debt be paid. They don't even care if its off your credit report or not. So you have to plan on having the money to pay the debt now and worry about the injustice of it later. The method I use gets the job done and gets it done very quickly but it does cost about $10 to maybe $15 depending on expenses. It lets you prove to the lender that you paid it but in the final analysis it may or may not actually end up getting paid. But by that time the lending is usually all over and you have your loan but may still have to prove that you have been wronged. Just depends on what the amount is as to whether or not it is worth fighting about. If you want to hear more send me an email although it's no big secret because I have posted about it a couple of times before. Its just that doing it by email will save you a lot of time over having to search for it.
Leo yes they verified with the CRA. Experian bbauer I will email you. I did not quite get what you were saying.
