need more info on FACT act

    has anyone implied FACT act yet?

    Essentially, FACTA revises the FCRA (and possibly some other laws).

    Unless you want to go through the Thomas listing of the law itself, you won't really see most of the changes with your naked eye, unless you have a pdf of the pre-dec 4 FCRA handy.

    But you can download a pdf copy of the FCRA as revised by FACTA. But be forewarned, most of the provisions of FACTA are not in force yet, so for the most part we are still under the pre-dec 4 FCRA.

    A few portions of FACTA went into effect before the end of the year, but those are the minority, and mainly those were portions which replace the same or similar expiring provisions of the FCRA; and in a few cases things which were deemed critical enough to warrant an expidited time-line.

    In fact the official time-line for when portions of FACTA take effect was just made official on Feb 4, 2003.
