    flatan, do you also know lenders who will refinance with a recent bk chapter 7 discharge? I need 85% LTV to make it work.

    Yes, there are lenders that don't need "seasoning" on BK7. What state are you purchasing in?

    The discharge was March 26th and it was chapter 7. I do not want to buy, just refinance to get me current and get a fresh start on the mortgage. I am in desperate need of help here!!! email me at stacey772@charter.net if you know anyone that could help..thanks

    I'll look for some folks for you. BTW, have you tried simply calling the mortgage company and asking for a re-age?

    Yep..they don't do it..don't do refiancing either! They are horrible to work with!!!! (Ocwen Federal Bank) They want $2600 up front and then $1000 a month till it is caught up, which i can not do!! and since i can't, they say ok..FORECLOSURE

    Stacie,

    If you've just been discharged a couple of weeks, your best bet may be to call your lawyer and try and reopen the bk and include the house. You have something you can't afford and any sort of re-fi deal you get this quick out of bk will be at a Godawful interest rate. A bk should provide a frsh start and it doesn't look like that'll happen if you continue to struggle with both a first and second mortgage at less than favorable terms.
