HI! We are in the process of rebuilding my husbands credit, and he needs to get some additional trade lines open. He currently has a visa of his own (FCNB secured, but it does not report as secured) and is AU on my Am Ex Gold. He also has a car loan that is A1 and 2 student loans about to come out of default and be rehabed. We would like to get him a card to purchase a lap-top computer (that reports to the bureaus...I understand Dell does not!) as well as another retail card or two, maybe home depot or something. His TU and Equifax each only have 2 derogs left, a discover charge-off and the 1 other smaller charge-off, both of which we are disputing. His scores should be somewhere in the low 600's when the student loans get updated. Does anyone have any recomendations for cards he should apply for...and may have a good chance at being approved??

Try Target for a retail card. It's instant approval and tbey only go by credit score.

My wife applied for a Best Buy card with an experian score of 610 and she was approved for a $1500 limit, they also go by household income. Also it is instant online approval!

    Hi Shanna,

Since your husband would like to purchase a computer in the near future I would suggest CompUSA (Household Bank). I don't know how strict they are with credit scores, though. They also offer 0% financing for six months for purchases over $299. But the interest rate is high at 23.99%. The good thing is they report to all three credit bureaus monthly and, actually report your credit limit. Just a suggestion. For retail cards I would also try Radio Shack, Kmart, and Macy's. Hope this helps.

You might want to look at peoplepc.com - I believe they finance through MBNA, and most people also get an extra line of credit with the pc loan. Afriend of mine got his there, and his credit was not perfetc.
