    Hi all!
I a cruddy FICO, and each calculator makes it worse..but as it is, there is no real time to fix it, as I am due to close on a house (or not) within 10 days.

    Here's where I stand:
    1. I recently paid full amount requested on an old bill and they recorded it as "less than owed"-but I paid what was stated on my report, and they sent me a receipt as paid in full-(not partial payment in settlement) is that enough to remove the statement on my report if I send it to the CB?

    2. I requested validation on an account held by asset acceptance, because it appears to have been opened by someone other than me..and the original creditor has no information anymore.
They told me they'd send a copy of last statement, and what arrived was:

    Re: (original creditor account# xxxxxxxxxx
"We understand that you are claiming fraud, please provide proof of fraud such as a police report or statement from original creditor stating fraud as proof of fraud". I'd already asked them what they could send me as proof, and all they have is the last 1-2 statements on the account from the original creditor.

I did an online dispute with 2 of the CB's, on this same acccount, one of which has agreed to expedite my request for validation if I provide a closing date..

    3. One of the CB's has my birthdate wrong (it is actually my husbands date, and we have NO joint accounts, so I have no idea where it came from, except someone filled in a blank while referencing my address..the bank has asked me to provide proof of SS#, I think because of this. The CB with this info is lowest score, might lender ignore it??(I wish)

    4. If a collections account is listed in "installment accounts" does it affect the weighting of my score?(I've had someone tell me that it doesn't)

    5. If (see 2) all they have is an account number, and even the last statements, can they still claim that it is my debt? I knew nothing of the account, and then one day the CA called my work# asking for my mother, by name, and then said they were actually looking for me...data provided (ssn, 1 prev. address) was accurate..I told them there was no way I opened the account-and the employer they gave was from 3 years prior to the account opening.

This crud makes me wish I'd been paying attention! The last time I got my credit report, there was 1994!

Thanks to anyone who has time and inclination to answer...

    1*What's wrong with these EANIEACKS?
Sending a CA the VL is not claiming fraud.
Then too just because something isn't yours don't mean fraud has to be involved.
2*A collection is a collection is a collection
