I know I posted this a little earlier but you guys please help me! I have a 18007059202 that we called initially and then they gave us 18009594995 for customer service, they did ask for money upfront and our next available check number. We were hesitant but are need to start rebuilding our credit thought this was an oppotunity. Need Advice!

    pre-post
my spouse just received an approval from ecreditsolutions today in the mail guarantying him a $4000. credit limit, so we had no idea where this came from so we called the number and they said he qualified for a card with a limit of the above amount and all it would cost is is $99. no annual fee no monthly fee no interest rate until Jan 2002 which then it would be 6% and after 3 consecutive monthly payments our limit increases to $7000. Has anyone ever heard of these guys, we asked them who they bank through and they said they deal with over 35 different banks, the card is a diamond visa and is taken worldwide. If anyone has any info. please let me know...We did ask if we get the card and read the terms if we could cancel and get our $99. back they said yes we have 30 days to cancel. Please help how legit are these people?

Post their name exactly as spelled (spaces dashes etc), and any address info or even what state they are in, and anything else that would help us find out exactly who you are talking about and search the BBB etc...

Dunno why I can't get that 3rd link to work..Oh well can't get link 3 to work but if you go to www.bbb.com and search you will get that link.

From the 3rd link if you search on Florida BBB you get more results and text saying the following:

According to information provided by NCS, they are not a credit card procurement or processing firm. The company states they are a catalog company only, which offers prospective members for a fee of approximately $199.00, a credit line set at a minimum of $4,000 with the potential to increase this amount to $7,500, regardless of past credit
history and for use in buying items from their catalogs only.

Information contained in Bureau files indicates that Jesus Lorie is listed as a principal in Capital Choice Consumer Credit. A separate report on Capital Choice Consumer Credit is available upon request.

Can this be added to the credit alerts in the Library section? Is this the right way to request it or should I write to the board moderator directly?

This catalog scams never seem to go away,.

SUCCESS!!!! I stopped payment on my check and my bank said that they don't see any problems as long as they (ecreditsolutions) doesn't change the check number...and it was not $99. it was for $199.95 so they lied over the phone! Thanks again everyone!

Telling you $99 and debiting your account for $199!!!! Another reason you NEVER give your checking account#, routing # or Bank ABA # over the phone to ANYONE, who calls you unsolicited! Consider your 10 dollar stop payment charge a cheap lesson learned.

I totally agree thank you guys so much! I did ask my bank if it would matter if they tried it under another name and they said we shouldn't have any problems unless they try another check number...so keep my fingers crossed, should I call and warn ecreditsolutions that if anything is debited from my account later on that legal force will be taken! They also told me that our so called check was sent out already and that it went to my bank, the bank says it has not cleared yet? So they stopped payment. But now can they try it again? Thanks again!

But now can they try it again?
    ---

YES!!! They have your checking account information! They did it once without a check or signature from you...what makes you think they can't do it twice?

It may be illegal but "can they?" and "may they?" are two different things!

She may need to close the account and have the bank give her a new bank account number.

You should IMMEDIATELY call your bank and tell them that you do not aurhorize any electronic transfer of funds from your account.

If you have automatic withdrawals to pay bills or anything, then specifically give them this company's name, address and telephone number and tell the bank that this company is not authorized to make any transfers from your account.

I would write a letter to the bank, or bring one in and have an officer sign that they received it just in case these folks wait a few weeks and try it again.

Yes Marci, The only 100% safe way to clear this kind of a situation up is to close the checking account and open a new one (same bank is fine)...new check printing fees will be the only thing the bank should make her pay. I would do it tho.

Well. maybe I'm getting lazy in my old age.

I think if it were me I'd just close the account and open a new one.

I'd rather not have to deal with it after the fact. It's up to you... ;)

You can always sue them after the fact and/or use your state's consumer affairs office to enforce your rights.

If you have enough in the account that their taking some out won't cause you harm then you could leave it and see what happens... but if you run close on your balances you'd be safer closing this one.
