I just graduated August 02 and have since moved from my last residence. I found out a few months ago that my loans went delinquent through PrivacyGuard. I quickly called the few loan companies, including Sallie Mae and attempted to pay off all outstanding balances, and setup a ACH from my bank for monthly payments for the next X years. Now that the damage has been done to my CR, with 120 days late notices and stuff like that, what is my next step to get my CR back on track? I've lost almost 70 points through this fiasco :(

    help!

    Thanks in advance.

First, I also graduated in August of 2002 :) And I actually had to hunt down one of my loans because I moved around so much in college. Luckily, I haven't ever fallen behind....but my question is, did you miss payments due to the move? If so, you may be able to work it out with the lenders....I'm new as well, but that is what I would think. Vets? Any advice?

whooops, i forgot to mention, that i would advise you to write a goodwill letter to your lenders about this and explain the situation if you did fall behind due to not being in receipt of your loan information, especially since you've set up automatice payments. you can do a search on this...but hopefully someone else will reply, since I'm not positive this is the route you take...I've only been repairing for a couple of months now. good luck!
