    Hi,

I'm a newbie poster, but I've visited these boards for over a year, and I would like to thank all of you for the great information that has been posted here that has allowed me to rebuild my credit!

Here's my dilemma: I have one derogatory left on my credit reports, but it's a biggie (for me anyway). It's an IRS lien from 1997 for $7000. I've made payment arrangements with the IRS to start paying it, and it will be paid in full next May, 2003. I know that liens take lifetimes to come off, but this lien is the thing that's making my score a lot lower than it could be.

My EQ Fico is 674, my TU is 656, and I don't know my EXP score. I only have one credit card (Providian, 1100cl, had it since 1999). I have about a $300 balance remaining. I pay on time. I also have a Gateway loan, that I've nearly finished paying off. Other than that, no other credit lines.

Can someone advise me as to what other means I could use to raise my score? Creditwatch claims that when my balance is $0 on my creditcards, I'll be in the low 700's. My fiance and I are getting married next year, and we want to buy a house at the end of the year.

    Please help...I trust y'all! : )
