Hi All, What a wonderful forum! I had no idea anything as amazing existed. This should really be popularized for the "masses" that don't even know their rights... Well, i certainly don't (I hate to admit it, but even with an advanced degree I am a "perfect" idiot as far as consumer rights.) I owe a lot to credit card companies (tens of thou) - trying to start fresh, ran away to a different town, rented under a different name (my relative), got all the accounts (phone, ISP) under a different name. I know that collection agencies keep calling my former employers - and one of them apparently gave one of the collectors my new number (I was stupid to give it to her.) I got a call asking if I am Mr. Runner - I was silly to say i am first and then hung up asking never to call this number. Am I being silly? Is this a totally wrong approach? What do you advise to do? Should I "legalize" and deal with my 20 collectors? Should I file for bankruptcy (I have a tiny income right now hardly managing to survive on it but business may be picking up this Fall...) And thank yuo all so much in advance! Respectfully, Runner
