Hello! Thank you for reading! ~smile~

Today, I finally obtained my credit report. I had avoided doing so because I knew that my scores would not be good. Of course, I was correct in my assumption. I am looking at three scores that are around the 500 level.

I stumbled across this site when I was researching Lexington Law Firm. From the posts that I have read, there are some individuals who think they are worth their fees; but, others who suggest I should go about alone.

I have several charge-offs that have happened all within the last two years. The sad thing about myself is that I am only 24. I received my first credit card when I was 18; it was just mailed to my college resident hall address. I eventually obtained two store accounts and another credit Visa. I was good at paying these accounts until I was 22. When I graduated from college, I had no job and for the next six months, I lived with my mother off her income. There were alot of delinquet payments and within two years, those accounts were charged off.

Now, I am back in school and I have a steady income. I'd like to begin to repair my credit but I am not sure how to begin. One of the charge-offs was done by a Visa group who latered told me that there was a mistake on their part and that I should dispute the charge-off and that they would even support me in this action. Another charge-off was in response to some dental work that I had done. Actually, it was over a cleaning. I called to ask how much a cleaning was and I was told by the receptionist that it would be $50. I went to my appointment and instead of getting my teeth cleaned; I received an x-ray examination. After the X-rays, I asked when my teeth would be cleaned and the dentist looked stunned. He checked up front and found that they had put me down for the wrong thing! They then told me that I owed them $150.
I told them I would pay the $50 because that was the amount I was told over the phone and that I didn't have my teeth cleaned, like I had planned.

So now, two years later, I find that the dentist has turned that account in and if I remember correctly, it was charged off. Is that something that can be disputed, also?

    Thanks for the help!
