So I just got a neg. removed from Experian but my credit score dropped 24 pts. Nothing else changed, other than Iâ??ve disputed two items on the report. Also I have a debt from Target that is fairly recent that I want to get removed. Itâ??s past due for about $150. Already tried talking to the customer service and supervisors. Any tips or contacts I can use?
If the negative was your oldest credit line, I know the score can drop... other than that, I have no ideas...
FICO or FAKO? FAKOs do weird things. I had an account that I disputed a year ago and my score dropped 73 points because in the 'verification' process, they got the facts wrong. I just got it deleted - a little over a year later - and the net effect on my FAKO was 0 - nada - zilch. I thought surely there would be a jump, so I didn't spend the $$ on a true FICO, so I don't know if it went down or up in 'real life'. It was, however, one of my oldest accounts. It might be explained that the increase in score by it dropping was offset by the decrease in score from the age differential.
Fico from Experian. I don't even bother with the fako. But I figure that even if it has hurt in the short run, it will help having it off in the long run. Plus my bank told me that they will begin reporting my accounts to Experian in the next few months and that it would be retroactive, so that will help. I've never been late on them.
