Why are collection agencies not willing to delete negative mark on my credit report, eventhough I accept to pay in full amount. Instead, they asked me to dispute with credit bureau myself.

I think it's because they have an agreement with the CRAs to not delete "legitimate" information.

Now, this may not be the case, but I've heard after paying that sometimes the CA's won't answer the dispute to the CRAs, thus a permanent deletion and no fussing from the CRAs to the CAs.

I cannot tell you if this is the case. Have they hinted that it could be?
