I'm pleased to report that i have just been approved for a home mortgage after working so hard on my credit scores for the past 4 years! The one and only condition from mortgage company is to pay off the open judgement i have. Original judgement was for $2500 and it's now about $4600 with interest for 3 years. Should i sent a letter or personally call? How much should i offer for settlement? I realize they may not settle but it's still worth a shot!!

A judgement may really be a long shot in settling, because they have the power of the court to try to collect the entire amount.

I would write a letter (remember, it's better to always have things down in writing). I would try starting as low as you can, and hope for the best.

Thank you jam! One more question...the judgement was in my maiden name. I have sinced married and have a new last name. Should i write the letter using the last name that is on the judgement? Or use my new married name?

I personally would use my legal name, whatever that is.
