Has anybody opened an account with them? How are they to deal with? Did you have any problems opening a checking account with an atm card? Did they pull a report?
I never used Netbank - but I was in a similar 'situation'. I went with Fort Sill National Bank (www.fsnb.com). They didnt pull anything - didnt check chexsystems or any CRAs. They opened my checking account and I had my checks in 1 week and my Check Card/ATM card within 2 weeks. They are great to work with if you set up direct deposit. Need overdraft? Just email them and they set it up. Need a loan? Keep your checking account in good standing for 6 months (no bounced checks, etc) and they will give you one. Need a visa card? Same thing. They did pull my TransUnion for a car loan - I got emailed by their VP of the Loan Dept asking me to call... I did, he just wanted a 'basic' explanation as to why I had 11 negative items on my credit report - and 0 good ones. Then he approved the loan.
I have had a netbank account for over 3 years and they are wonderful. They do not pull cr when you open or for ar. You sign up, and voila, 1 week later you have your atm card and checks.. Iove them because you can check your balance online and they can track ach transfers immediately for you. Also, their bank mail system is wonderful and responsive. I know, I am raving about them, but they are great.
Oh yeah - if it's chexsystems keeping you from getting an account - get a copy of their report and dispute them. I had 3 neg entries - all 3 were removed without much effort (1 letter took care of all of them).
I did not have a good experience with netbank at all. I tried them after Compubank in Houston closed it's doors. They were absolutely great and never had a problem with them of any kind. I'd probably be jumping at the chance to do business with FSNB if they had a branch here in OKC but I've already got 3 different banks that I do business with all the time and a total of 4 different accounts so it does get to the point where one can get so spread out that he can't find a crying dime anywhere so I'd be afraid to open another one right now so I'll just stay put where I am.
I got a Netbank account with no problem. The thing I don't like if they charge an inactive fee if you don't do anything in 3 months. I initially was using the account as a way to stash some extra money. I was suprised one day when $50 was credited to my account as a promotion. I have heard their credit criteria is pretty strict though.
I've had an account with Netbank for almost 2 years. No problems at all, I have debit card and OD protection. I do not have a chex problem. Netbank did pull Equifax when they opened my account.
Netbank is great. I have had two accounts with them for three years with no problems. I dont recall if they pulled a inq but I had a chex problem at the time and was still able to get the accounts.
