I sent CSC (affiliate of Equifax) a letter disputing some account information about a month ago. I still have not received the green card back. How much longer should I wait and then what do I do if I don't get it back?
Sometimes they will just get lost in mail or inadvertently thrown out with the junk fliers ... if you have your part of the reciept, you can check the status of the letter online at usps.com through its track and confirm feature. If you mistakenly wrote the wrong address for CSC, or if no one signs for the letter, the letter will come back to you pretty quickly ... that doesn't look like the case here since its been a month. I'd check the tracking number and see what's up. peace, delilah
I just checked online and found out they received it 3 days after I sent it. I actually sent it 4/14 and they rec'd it 4/17. I still have not received anything from CSC. What comes next?
You can print out that page form the usps.com site and use that as confirmation that your letter was delivered. The 30 days have passed since the letter was delivered, but you should always leave about a week or so cushion for slow delivery. My suggestion is if you haven't received the results of your dispute by the end of this week, send out a 30-day letter ... tell them you have proof they recevied the letter (the web site print out), remind them that the "rules" state that they have to resolve it in 30 days and since they failed to do that, they must delete the TL in question (or change it to whatever you asked for.) I'd start preparing that letter now, so you could mail it out Friday or Saturday. peace, delilah
