I disputed a cc account online with EQ and it came back updated with zero lates. The good news is that my EQ score went up 40 points. But it still shows as 'closed by credit grantor'. Account was paid in full. - You think if the status is changed to 'closed by consumer' score would go another ...X points? - What is the best way to approach this. I know this has been discussed before, but can you remind me please?
If I remember correctly, the concensus is that "closed by credit grantor" would NOT affect your score, but if a human reviewed your report, they might consider it a derogatory listing. Not 100% sure of the matter though (along with most FICO questions, who, other than Mr. Fair and Mr. Isaac, really knows how they calculate those things . -Peace, Dave
So, now there is no cause because other than the status column, everything is just perfect. But I how do I tell that to EQ, because they just changed the lates to no lates.
Thanks Nave. It does seem like that because I have already got a jump of ~40 points. I may not get more points, but I need to get the status straightened out because most likely the mortgage lender would pull out the copy and review it in person.
I guess I did'nt ask it correctly. The question is that EQ just now changed the lates to no lates, so how long should I wait before I dispute this account again... for the status?
You bet. But it does not stop here. the same account came back verified(stays) by EX. Now I have all cra's reporting it differently.
