Now I know part of the MRO program on these new gold and green cards is the whole double point thing. In the article I read, they mentioned that would also apply to some other Amex cards starting 11/1. Do any of you know if that includes Blue or not?
I don't think so. I thought the article said that the Blue and the Optima rewards cards would not be affected by the charge card restructuring. I wish they would, though...
Just a quick question. What is the benefit of Blue anymore? When they had the BVG..that was good and when they were offering 0% interest that was good, but now my Discover card and ATT Universal both have cash back, lower interest rates, a longer grace period, and is accepted at alot more locations. Is it still benefical to have my Blue account? I am trying to clean out the sock drawer. Dani
Dani, Blue is enrolled in MRO, and I don't know any Discover cardholders whose APR is less than 9.99% Saar
i'll second that Saar Blue still rocks - and I'm pretty sure that the MR program is free - they don't charge an annual fee like all the others for their reward programs
Saar, Amex still refuses to reduce my APR (I am still at 12.99%). I have called CSR, Retention, wrote letters to Executive Offices, planetfeedback, so far...nada. So at this time my Amex is my highest interest credit card, but the interest rate is not what really bothers me (I began paying the cards in full each month). As for MRO I can get that with almost any other Amex card...I was really thinking about upgrading (or transferring) to their Cash Back Rebate Card. Would this be best and would my prior account history be dissolved from Blue...eg. they report it as a different (and new) tradeline? Dani
I believe Doc tried converting to the new Cash Rebate and was declined. Don't have any other info about the card yet. As for Discover, did you get the APR lowered by the Executive Offices? Saar
