New CA collecting on old debt

Back in April I requested validation from the first CA collecting for Cingular.
I recently get a letter saying that bottom feeder #2 CA has purchased the account from Cingular.

    What now? Do I:
    1. Resend the new CA a Validation Request?

Can I claim this collection activity as uncellectable on any grounds?
    Original CA failed to validate....

Yes, you send validation request to new CA.

I'm not quite sure how that would work, but if you sent the letter, I think it's off on them to validate it. If one CA could just pass it to the next CA, then I think none of us would ever get anything removed. It'd be a nice long paper trail.

As far as Cingular goes, I don't doubt it got sent to a different CA because we(yes, I work there, but not in Collections) probably use in the neighborhood of 8 different CAs. I don't know what causes an account to go to any particular CA, other than maybe the region your acct is in.

And it probably wouldnt do any good to try to send Cingular a validation letter. I work with our billing system and it has solid records all the way back to like 1988. It might be worth a try, but validating accounts would likely be very easy around here with records going so far back.

I might get lucky on an apartment debt I'm about to send off. I've already spoken with the complex in person and they stated that they purge their records every 3 years, so I'm hoping they'll have a hard time validating that debt.

Re-reading your post, if you sent that off in April and are just now getting a letter back, you should be able to send a letter to request removal. At least that's what i gather from reading this board. April to July is easily 30 days. Did you send it CRRR?

Yes I sent it CRRR. However, it there is no tradeline on my records yet....I am just disputing the debt as not mine and asking them to validate my debt.
