I am close to maxing out my credit cards (about $65,000). My wife's cards are clean, no outstanding balances. Now that I am back to work, I am paying down the debt on mine. I suspect my FICO stinks. Everything else on our credit reports is fine, no problems.

I need a car. Will the dealer (such as Toyota or Honda) base the loan on her credit if we ask them to? Or, will they automatically base it on the credit of both of us? This assumes that we are both on the title.

I am looking at getting one of the promotional deals like 3.9%.

It's your choice. Use hers if you need the income and/or credit, or you can go on yours alone if you don't.

ALWAYS USE TOTAL HOUSEHOLD INCOME IF IT ASKS...

I'M GLAD MY OLDEST NOW WORKS...I CAN USE HIS TOO...TILL HE MOVES OUT.
