okay here's the update on the Atlantic coast Federal Visa i applied fro yesterday. The Platinum terms were 9% apr for purchases and cash advances. I was initially approved (15K) for something they call "preferred" which was 13.7% apr. Called up - asked to reconsider the apr - wanted the 9% - that's why I applied - I explained. They're in Georgia - they're extremely sweet and nice (nothing at all like Los Angeles btw) and a woman called back and said the reconsidered and approved me fro the Platinum at 9%. The only thing they ask for is to fax a payment stub (asked if i could fax a copy of my last weekly paycheck - not a stub - she said ok) and two references of people not living with you. so - unless they throw a curveball somewhere along the way - i think i got it. anyone interested - the web site is www.acfederal.net
