I just applied again for the 4th time for Citi AA silver and gold and was approved for both Silver 8000CL 14.9 and gold 7000CL 14.9. The first time I applied I just got the Silver 2500 CL. converted to Plat Select. Then Got Silver 3500 CL and Gold 6000 CL converted Silver to Plat Select and Gold to Sony Plat Select. Then Got silver 9000 CL and Gold 9000 CL combined and converted to Sony card. I will combine yesterdays cards with my Plat Select giving me: 1 Plat Select 17500 CL 9.9 purchase card 1 Plat Select 9500 CL 11.9 balance transfer card 1 Sony Plat Select 18000 12.4 no balance card. But I currently have 5 citibank cards So the notion they only allow 3 cards must be wrong... It must depend on your person situation... or income or something. I have to wait to febuary to apply again. the only card that has reported is the First Plat Select and that was back in August or so.... Kev
Once they start reporting all those cards, it will cost them heaps of $$$ to pay the reporting agencies, lol.
For some unknown reason...AASilver and AAGold (in the same hour) then combine and trade for PLATINUM SELECT when you get the cards, before you call to activate...works better... I JUST WENT FOR PLATINUM SELECT TWICE AND WAS DENIED TWICE...
I have Citi Div and Plat Select since Jan 2001. I have applied several times to citi AA and Gold AA to combine with my two cards and they have sent me a letter saying that I have the Max number of citi cards available to an Individual or something like that. It has costed me 6 aditional "Citibank SD" inquires on my Equifax file. So I currently have 9 Citibank SD inquires on Equifax for the 2001.
