Search this board for "Innovis" (search function below), and you'll find much information that may help you when dealing with them -- including acquiring your own personal Innovis report, etc. Doc
My question concerning Innovis is this; if you are denied credit and their report is referenced, don't they have to provide you with a free report? Has anyone seen them referenced when denied credit? Just when I get my other three almost clean, another beach ball pops up. Life's a beach and then you die. Am I quoting that right?
Innovis has been around for over 50 years. They only starting marketing their product a little over 4 years ago.
Looks like someone deleted the innovis web site. http://www.innovis.com Would be cool if they deleted their credit database as well. -L
And here's the validation form they use...... http://www.innovis-cbc.com/word/contr_val_ printable.doc VJ
I was curious how this board "discovered" Innovis, so I did a quick search. The very first mention of Innovis was made by :drum roll please: NanaC in April 2001. She only uttered the word once (to quote, her hubby "received a notice form innovis (whatever that is) saying that these idiots had reported to them"). Here's that link. Interestingly, nobody noticed NanaC's posting much, and nothing came of it. Three full months later, frankowes mentioned Innovis again. Then, in that same thread, SCHOLR asked, "WHAT IS INNOVIS????" Then breeze answered, "Ohhhhhhhhh!! Let's write them and get our files." At that point, all hell broke loose. Doc
And while were on the subject, does anyone else see a problem with innovis' fcra interpretation of "Obligation of Furnishers (Reporters) of credit under fcra"? General Prohibition on Reporting Inaccurate Information: The FCRA prohibits information furnishers from providing information to a consumer reporting agency (CRA) that they know (or consciously avoid knowing) is inaccurate. However, the furnisher is not subject to this general prohibition if it clearly and conspicuously specifies an address to which consumers may write to notify the furnisher that certain information is inaccurate. Sections 623(a)(1)(A) and (a)(1)(C). http://www.innovis-cbc.com/word/notice_furnishers.doc VJ
Actually for me, I discovered Innovis when I called to Opt-Out and the recording mentioned "all four bureaus." I thought they had said Novvus so I called the Discover card. It wasn't until I found this board that I knew what the Opt Out line was talking about.
Hi VJ!! Technically what they are saying is true, but I would say it's misleading to leave the other parts out of their statement: http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/fcra.htm#623
