That point loss you experienced is just for the inquiries. In my experience over the last 3-4 months, EACH time a new account actually reported on my CR, I lost exactly 10 points. This has happened 3 times, and each time I lost 10 points. But after making payments on time for a couple of months, you'll easily make up the points you lost for opening a new acct.
