I ran my CRs and found and old account from 97 that has just showed up 2/02. I want to send a Validation letter but I am not sure where to start. I call SBC the CO and they directed me to American Agencies. I spoke to some tool there but didn't get the address info, I want to minimize my phone contact with them will CRAs give me the address info?

my other issue is that my CR has a "Dynamic Rec" listed as the CA. is this a differant name for the same company? I suspcet that they bought the debit and them gave up, and then AA bought the debit because of the dates on the CR. I sent a dispute to TU and EQ and they came back verified. can it be two CAs with the same account at the same time?

Yes, the CRA is required to give you contact information of any tradeline reported on your credit report.

As far as the dates on your report are concerned, are you referring to the "open date" of the CA's account, or the DOLA for the account itself? Don't worry about the open date so much, it's the DOLA you want to be sure is correct.

No, two CA's cannot hold the same account at the same time. What can happen is, CA1 attempts to collect, they're unsuccessful, so the debt goes to CA2. Now CA1 must list their tradeline as sold/transferred and $0 balance, but unfortunately, they do not *have* to take the account off your report. This is where the validation process can help out you.

DOLA on EQ is 10/97. doesn't show on TU. out of SOL but not old enough to drop off of CR

I sent a validation letter RRR to CA1 today, starting the proccess of getting them off my CR. CA2 does not show on my CR, and they have made no contact. should I send them a validation letter now or wait until they make a move?

CR2 is American agencies, and from the comments on the boards they are weak on the validation proccess.

If DOLA is reporting as 10/97, that doesn't sound like a re-age.

TU's system is outdated. They may be in the process of upgrading, but until then you'll see (or rather not see) things on TU vs. what you see on EX and EQ.

TU's system cannot even handle placing an account in dispute. Their in-house score is a joke, and their online method leaves much to be desired. Both EX and EQ have set-up unlimited access systems for consumers, while with TU, you have to pull your report by either paying for it each time or by claiming you were denied credit or insurance. And even then it's only a one time report, you have access to it for 6 days, but it is the same report all 6 days.

I have sent a RRR validation letter to the CA who shows on my CR. When I called the CO they toll me to talk to American agencies, they are not even on my CR. they bought the paper in Feb according to CO.

should I send them a valadation letter now or wait to see if they are going to do anythig. the SOL is out but I have 18 months until the DOLA is 7.
