    Hello everyone,
I am trying to rebuild my credit to be to purchase a home.
A little background on my situation...

Currently I have 1 active current credit acct...my car loan
In addition I have 7 neg accts, 3 are medical, 3 are charge offs and 1 is some 30 day late payments with the newest late pay 12 months ago.

The steps I have taken so far is disputing the neg in hopes of having them deleted (I use to have 11, so 4 haveen deleted so far)

I paid most of the collections off and am trying to negotiate a pay for delete for the ones not paid yet.
My husband added me as an auth user on his positive credit card.

My middle score is 585, how likely is itti increase my score by 100 pts in the next year do you think?
I know this is not a black and white answer, just curious to see if my expectations reasonable.

You can do a lot to your credit scores in a year. If you are able to remove more of the negative accounts while building positive payment history at the same time, I don't think it's unrealistic to get your FICO scores back into the upper 600s in a year.

In addition to the card on which you've been added as an AU, I would also get a secured credit card to build more positive payment history. Use it sparingly, makes all your payments on time, and 6-12 months of responsible use will really help your credit scores. It's really important to add new positive history to your credit profile as the bad stuff gets older and you remove negative marks.

Keep us updated on your progress as you prepare to buy a home, and welcome to Creditnet!
