Hello. I am new here, but have been with creditboards for quite some time now. I hope it is okay to mention the name of the other board, if not, then I am truly sorry. I am glad I found another board and I hope that I may be able to help someone that needs it. I have a question to ask: In Oct., 05, I filed a chapter 7 bk pro-se and it was discharged in June. I started my clean-up of my reports right away and have almost everything reporting correctly now, but I am wondering if anyone here may be able to answer a question for me: Does anyone know when & if collection agencies send the discharged accounts back to original creditors to allow them to write the discharged debts off or whatever they do with them at that point. I have been told by some of the CA's that it would be returned to the original creditors after they received notice of discharge. AND, if they send it back to the OC, can't I dispute the TL from the CA and have it removed due to them no longer being "assigned" to collect the debt as long as the OC never reported to the CRA's??? Anyone have any experience with this??? Reason is because SO and I have a few medical collections from a few CA's that I want to get removed now that the discharge has been granted.
If the Company that is listed on credit report and it's not the OC...then I believe the the OC would not be notifed. You would have to notify the OC yourself...collection agencies don't take the time to do that...and are probably tuff to talk to to get it fixed in the first place. Through my personal experience..when dealing with the OC they always refer me to the collection agency..then the collection agency refers me back to OC. Very aggrivating. What I did was send the info that I got from CRA's that the info was corrected..and sent that to the Collection Agencies and the OC. I included the collection agency name and accnt info with the info I sent to OC (in case they couldn't find my info cause they tend to do that). I am awaiting the response and will let you know when I get it This is just my personal opinion
