i joined equifax but didnt get a 3:1 yet, i guess i have to pay additional. blahh

i dont owe any money, seems like i may have to dispute a few accounts that i know i paid, but possibly no proof that i paid them.

i got all the phone#s from the debtors, so i guess ill be calling them. then what?

also whats score should i be shooting for?

i spent the last year paying everything off, got a secured mc 8 months ago. but creditors stiill wont touch me. plus i cant get a bank account because
ive screwed that up in the past. but every debt i believe is paid off ive ever had except for a write off.
that says its payoff, from 8 years ago.

not sure if im really needing help yet, just here starting my score to the board

Hang in there, you are in the right place for help.

Concerning the banking problem, search the archive for "chexsystems" a number of the online banks do not utilize them.

I'd worry more about getting a clean report than the scores. Scores for prime cards start around 670, but even then you won't necessarily get approved if you have negatives on your report. Just my $.02

thanks im going to look up the online banking.

ok getting those items off my report is my only concern right now. really sucks when theve been paid off for over 2 years and still say unpaid. im sorta worried, ill be paying something twice.

If you have creditwatch with equifax you at least now do not have to worry about inquires. Try for a target card and a best buy card. I got both with your scores. Yah never know what they will do with those scores but that is around the area they will approve.

Don't worry about getting them to report "paid" use that to get them removed. First, just dispute with CRA's - how about I do not owe xxxxx Co $xxxx. You must have me confused with someone else."

    Hahahaha!! It's the truth!!!

ok i guess im doing things wrong.
    i called 3 debtors today,
    1) im getting 1 thing removed from my credit report.
    2) 1 is going to report its paid.
3)my local credit bureau wont remove a paid item, they say it wont come off for 7 years.
    4) wrong number listed they claim on cr i never paid so ill file that with the cra.

#2) was a repo they said it wont come off my report?

im confused how im going to get something removed
besides the fraudulant one on line #1)

so i just have 1 item that will show unpaid on my equafix report now.

Well, I would have never called your debtors. You could have really gone for total deletion on those that you paid...you had them on a violation for not reporing correct information and that bit of information could've gotten you a deletion.

A letter should be written to the creditor stating that you are disputing their listing in your credit reports. Tell them that it is inaccurate reporting. Then, about 5 days later, you dispute with the CRA. You are looking for one main thing: did the creditor note your dispute on your CR? Probably not...there's another violation.

    It's called the violation spiral.

Then, you could have said, "Mr. So and so creditor, you have been trampling all over my consumer rights for far too long now. Please remove these unverifiable, erroneous listings from my reports or I will be forced to exercise my rights in a court of law."

Also, since these are paid, you should be reading up on the nutcase letter in the newbie FAQ. I highly recommend you read that FAQ before you go any further. :)

well i guess i screwed up, but i did get one removed.
1 creditor i didnt get ahold of so ill send a nutcase letter. the repo 1 is a major screw up on my part then. i never follow directions dammit

    Pic,

Did you happen to have any derogs when you got the Best Buy card? Do you mind if I ask your score at the time?

    Thanks!

What does this mean? How does CreditWatch help you?

I think with best buy I had around a 669 or so. I have a paid charged off cc that is 3 years old and a settled cc from 5 years ago. Those are all my negatives on equifax.
