Hello everyone, I am new here and just started reading the board, I have a situation I was hoping I could get some advice on. I currently have a Chapter 11 bankruptcy with $19,000.00 remaining which includes my car. The only other debt I have is a Household Bank Credit card with a CL of 300.00 that I just got to help raise my credit. We were looking at possibly buying a house and have applied for a morgage but backed out shortly after the application was processed. My credit scores are around 550 from what the morgage gentleman told me. Does anyone have any suggestions on banks for be to apply for credit cards from? I would like to get a few small CL cards that I can max out and payoff on a monthly basis to start trying to bring up my credit rating. I have looked at my credit report and everything on my credit report is all tied in my bankruptcy, no judgements or anything else. Any suggestions anyone might have in general, please let me know.
One more questions too, I have applied to a number of banks recently... Does this negitively affect your credit?
Applying affects your credit. As far as ch 11, were you in business for yourself? Ch 11 is a business bk.
Jeff, here's a great thread which continues to address the topic of BK-friendly credit cards: http://consumers.creditnet.com/stra...ad.php?s=&goto=newpost&threadid=11580&pgnum=4 Hope something there helps! Doc
