I am starting the process of cleaning up my and Husbands ratings. I understand I can dispute things on my report. I have a account showing from Capital One that my husband filed chapter 7 on in 1996 and it is still showing on his report both the bankruptcy and the account. The account says it was "charged off as bad debt / profit and loss write off" If i am reading this right it is hitting his report twice. Once as the bankruptcy and one as the revolving account. Am I right on this? How do I dispute? Who do I write to? His lawyer is not helping at all. Dragonlady
You have a TL that says Cap One included in BK, and another TL that says Cap One charge off? What are they showing as the date of last activity? If its 1996, it would be due to fall off this year. Have you had a chance to read the INTRO threads at the top of the first page? There is a lot of good information there that will help you get an idea of what you need to do and how to get started. (You don't need your attorney) Good luck and welcome to the board!
